FULLERTON, Calif. - Junior
Kyle Tsu earned his fourth individual victory of the season to lead the UC Irvine men's track & field team Thursday at the Fullerton Spring Invitational.

Tsu was the shot put champion, finishing ahead of the runner-up by over two feet with a toss of 56-05.75. He has won the shot put in three of his four meets this season. Junior
Noah Holm (53-00.75) was also fifth, while freshman
Justin Willingham (50-08) came in seventh.

A couple hours later, Tsu was back in action in the discus, and was once again UCI's top performer, placing fourth overall at 174-06. That mark was only two inches shy of his personal best that he established four weeks ago at the Titan Track Complex. Freshman
Jacob Hawkins (167-04) and Holm (161-11) contributed top-eight performances.

Senior
Jack Pickard took second in the javelin with a season-best 213-10. He was in the lead up until the finals where UC Santa Barbara's Chase Tarr pulled ahead at 215-04.

Quincy Stokes opened the meet by topping their season bests by over 10 feet in the hammer throw. Hawkins led a quartet of 'Eaters at 168-01, while Stokes recorded a mark of 153-11. Willingham chipped in a season-best 146-11.

On the track, junior
Miles Duncan was the 800m runner-up with a season-best 1:53.68. He was .17 seconds off his PR which he established at Diablo Valley College in 2019. Freshman
AJ Sager (1:56.54) was also among the top-five, while sophomore
Jason Messner registered a personal-best 1:57.34.

Lukas Amare paced a trio of Anteaters in the 5000m with a sixth-place finish (15:29.01).

UC Irvine will close out the Fullerton Spring Invitational tomorrow with the jumps, sprints, hurdles and relays.
Josh Farmer is also set to compete in his first decathlon at UCI as he travels to Azusa for the APU Franson Classic Multis, April 9-10.
