IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine women's track & field team defeated Cal State Fullerton, 75-63, in the OC Dual Thursday at Anteater Stadium.

UCI won nine events en route to the team victory. On the track,
Kayla Richardson was a double champion in the 100m and 200m. She ran a season-best 23.94 in the 200m, which puts her at No. 2 among the program's all-time leaders. Richardson joined 2016 Olympian
Persis William-Mensah as the only two 'Eaters in school history to run a sub-24 second race. Richardson also matched her season best in the 100m (11.80).

Adding to UCI's point total in the sprints was
Aryel Coats, who was second in the 200m (25.04) and third in the 100m (12.26).
Natalie Koppel made it a 200m Anteater sweep as she took third (25.54).

Amari Fraser swept the hurdle events with lifetime bests in both races. She was the first to cross the finish line in the 100H at 14.55 seconds, and also took top honors in the 400H (63.85).
Kayla Rodriguez wasn't far behind in second (64.61).

Five of UC Irvine's eight 1500m competitors notched a PR, highlighted by
Claire Livengood's winning time of 4:44.08. Livengood shaved over five seconds off her previous best.
Patricia Sanchez contributed a second-place showing (4:47.15). Â
In the 800m,
Elizabeth Celada Padilla clocked a personal-record 2:16.24 to finish third.

Fraser,
Cecily Montanez, Coats and Richardson closed out the meet with a season-best 3:49.71 in the 4x400 relay. The quartet came in eight seconds ahead of the Titans.

In the field events,
Brianna Villanueva claimed both the hammer and discus titles for the third time this season. She started the day off in the hammer where she led wire-to-wire. Villanueva surpassed 180 feet on all six attempts, and saved the best for last where she unleashed a personal-record 188-01. She was already No. 2 in school history, and improved that mark by two feet.
Tayla Crenshaw also registered a lifetime-best 173-11 to secure runner-up honors. She is sixth on UCI's all-time charts.

The Anteaters went 1-2-3 in the discus, led by Villanueva's winning toss of 160-06. Crenshaw (155-02) was second, and
Kassidy Sani came in third with a PR 151-04. Sani and
Cassious Fiaui also had lifetime-bests of 147-07 and 129-11, respectively, in the hammer.

Koppel added an individual victory in the long jump with a season-best 19-00.5, while
Hanna Coloma was second in the triple jump (34-11.25).
Laura Sangiacomo chipped in a runner-up showing in the pole vault, clearing a personal-record 11-00.25.

UC Irvine will be back in action next weekend for the Steve Scott Split Meet in Riverside and Long Beach, April 29-May 1. It is the Anteaters' final tune-up before the Big West Championships.
