IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team had a number of top performances against Cal State Fullerton in the OC Dual Thursday at Anteater Stadium.

Despite falling to the Titans in the team standings, the Anteaters combined for eight personal bests and two marks that rank among the program's all-time top-10. Those two marks came in the discus where
Jacob Hawkins and
Noah Holm had a one-two finish.

Heading into the final round, Hawkins was second behind Holm before unleashing a throw of 176-04 to claim his first collegiate victory. Hawkins improved his lifetime best by over seven feet and now ranks eighth in school history. Holm was the runner-up with a personal-best 174-10, which puts him at No. 9 in the record books.

Holm was also the shot put champion with a season-best 56-03, while
Kyle Tsu came in second with a toss of 55-10.25.
Jack Pickard added a first-place finish in the javelin (191-11), and
Quincy Stokes took third in the hammer with a personal-record 157-05.

Seth Enochs registered the top mark of the meet in the long jump, winning the event with a leap of 23-04.5.
Tobi Adegoke also notched a season-best 21-11 (4th).

On the track,
Jason Messner made a late push to win the 800m by two-hundredths of a second. He crossed the finish line in a lifetime-best 1:56.90. Teammate
AJ Sager contributed a third-place showing at 1:58.81.

Lukas Amare (4:02.90) and
Cameron Smith (4:06.05) both set PRs in the 1500m, coming in second and third, respectively.

Jarel Sayles was the 110m hurdle runner-up, clocking in at 14.60 seconds.

In the 200m,
Malcolm Overbaugh posted a personal-record 21.73 to finish second. Overbaugh also had a lifetime-best 48.66 in the 400m.

Eric Parker,
Josh Farmer, Sayles and Adegoke combined for a season-best 42.04 in the 4x100 relay.

UC Irvine will be back in action next weekend at the Steve Scott Split Meet in Riverside and Long Beach, April 29-May 1. It is the Anteaters' final tune-up before the Big West Championships.
