ELK GROVE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's golf team finished in a tie for sixth at the Sacramento State Invitational Tuesday at Valley Hi Country Club.
The Anteaters shot a combined season-best 876 (293-291-292) over the course of the two-day tournament.
Loyola Marymount topped the 14-team field at 24-under (840), while the Lions' Riley Lewis was the individual medalist at 11-under 205.
Junior
Nathan Irwin was UCI's top finisher as he tied for 16th. Irwin carded a personal collegiate-best even-par 216 (72-71-73). It was his first career top-20 finish.
Freshman
Henry Fitzhugh fired a season-best 2-under 70 in Tuesday's final round. He moved up 15 spots to tie for 21st at 1-over 217 (71-76-70).
Graduate student
Jonathan Kang also tied for 30th with a 54-hole score of 219 (74-71-74), and junior
Matt Gunson tied for 68th (227). Junior
Ethan Han rounded out the 'Eater lineup (241).
