The Anteaters moved up one spot in the second round before play was suspended due to darkness.

Pacific had the best team score through 18 holes at 297, but the leaderboard shifted late into the second round with Loyola Marymount taking over the top spot. The Lions' Gavin Cohen leads the individual field.

Junior
Matt Gunson paced the 'Eaters, carding an opening-round 6-over 76 to tie for 26th. Graduate student
Jonathan Kang also tied for 45th with a 78, while freshman
Henry Fitzhugh tied for 54th (79). Juniors
Nathan Irwin (81) and
Ethan Han (83) rounded out UCI's 5-count-4 lineup.

Competing as individuals, freshman
Kolbe Irei had his best round in his young collegiate career with a 77 (T37th). Freshman
Darien Zhao added a first-round score of 78, while junior
Trueman Park made his season debut (86-84).

The teams will resume play Tuesday at 8 a.m. with the completion of the second round followed by the final 18 holes.
