VALENCIA, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's golf team sits in seventh place after two rounds of the Bill Cullum Invitational Monday at The Oaks Club at Valencia.

Playing under a wind advisory in the Santa Clarita Valley, all 12 teams finished over par. The Anteaters moved up one spot after the second round, combining for a 5-count-4 team score of 605 (303-302).

Host CSUN leads the field at 579 (+3), while Utah State is six strokes back in second. Individually, UC Santa Barbara's Brian Arnold will enter tomorrow's final round with a three-stroke lead as he came in at 6-under 138.

Sophomore
Kolbe Irei and freshman
Jin Nakao paced the 'Eaters as both carded back-to-back rounds of 3-over 75 to tie for 26th (150). Nakao had a team-best five birdies.

Senior
Nathan Irwin (78-76) and sophomore
Henry Fitzhugh (75-79) also tied for 40th at 154. Irwin, who climbed nine spots on the leaderboard in the afternoon, eagled the par-4, 412-yard 12th hole in the second round.

Darien Zhao saw a five-stroke improvement in the second round, finishing the day in a tie for 52nd (81-76).

Competing as an individual,
Ethan Han is also tied for 52nd with a 36-hole score of 157 (80-77).
