Men's Golf Wraps up Action at John A. Burns Intercollegiate

Final Results

LIHUE, Kaua'i -
The UC Irvine men's golf team finished 17th overall at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate Saturday at Wailua Golf Course.
 
The Anteaters combined for a final-round 296 to close out the tournament with a 5-count-4 total of 887.
 
Tenth-ranked Texas A&M claimed the team title at 12-under 845, while No. 40 New Mexico was the runner-up (850). The Aggies and Lobos were two of seven ranked teams in the field.
 
Senior Jonathan Kang led the Anteaters on the final day with his second below-par round of the tournament. Kang had two birdies and four pars over his last six holes to get to 1-under 71. He finished in a tie for 42nd with a 54-hole score of 219 (69-79-71).
 
Senior Anthony Truong carded a 1-over 73 to match his best round of the season. He tied for 47th overall at 4-over 220 (74-73-73).
 
Sophomore Parker Lestz recorded a season-best 221 (74-73-74) to tie for 57th, while seniors Chris Casey (230) and Ramiz Jamal (231) rounded out UCI's lineup.
 
New Mexico's Sam Choi was individual medalist at 10-under 206.
 
The 'Eaters will have a week off from competition before traveling to Northern California for the Sacramento State Invitational, March 2-3.
