The three-day tournament features four teams ranked in Golfstat's top-15 and seven in the top-50.

Senior Jonathan Kang is one of six players atop the individual leaderboard with a 3-under 69. He is tied with Texas A&M's Josh Gilege and Sam Bennett, Peter Kuest (BYU), Tommy Kuhl (Illinois) and Segundo Oliva Pinto (UNCW).

Kang fired off a team-best six birdies against three bogeys for his third sub-70 score of the season.

Senior Ramiz Jamal is tied for 24th after shooting a 1-over 73. Jamal had a strong finish to the first round with all four of his birdies coming on his final five holes.

Senior Anthony Truong and sophomore Parker Lestz both carded a 74 (+2) to tie for 38th. Truong got off to a good start and held steady at 1-under to begin the back nine, but he was unable to maintain that momentum with four bogeys over his final eight holes.
