Many of our student-athletes have taken different paths to collegiate athletics at UC Irvine. But one consistent factor has been the love and support they've received from family, teammates and coaches. With Mother's Day this weekend, some of our student-athletes took some time to share a special message for the women that helped get them to where they are today.


My mom means the world to me. She is one of my biggest supporters and is traveling to almost every game to cheer me on. Thank you mom for your continued love and support and I wouldn't be where I am today without you.

I still remember the day when you walked on the pool deck for my 7 a.m. game after working a long 12-hour shift at the hospital and thinking you truly are the most selfless, passionate person I know. You have the purest heart, constantly wanting the best for others, and have never hesitated putting Daniel, Ciara, and me first to allow us to grow and chase any dream we have. You brighten every room you walk in with your contagious humor and positive energy. Happy Mother's Day mom! I am so blessed to be able to call you my mom. I am thankful for all the love you have shown me. You have always given me the confidence to pursue my dreams and goals.
