IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team wrapped up the Steve Scott Invitational, its final home meet of the season, Saturday at Anteater Stadium.

Redshirt freshman
Kyle Tsu was the runner-up in the shot put at 57-05. His best effort of the day came on his third attempt and put him behind only Tim Nedow of the Ottawa Lions Track & Field Club. Â

Tsu also led the way in the discus throw where he was eighth overall (161-03). Senior
Omar Valenzuela came in 15th (152-08).

Sam Ayala paced a quartet of 'Eaters in the 1500m, bettering his personal record by over two seconds. Ayala, who was fourth behind three non-collegiate athletes, clocked in at 3:48.85. Junior
Hector Garcia placed eighth with a season-best 3:53.44, while senior
Ashton Garcia was 12th (3:56.77). Senior
Jon Rodriguez took 29th with a season-best 4:02.09.

Asa Allen was the top collegiate finisher, and fourth overall, in the 110m hurdles where he matched his season best at 14.43.

Andres Woodruff added a fifth-place showing in the 400m hurdles with a personal-record 52.74. He shaved .59 seconds off his previous best.

Evan Singletary had a top-10 finish in a strong 100m field with a time of 10.81 seconds.

Paul Resong came in 11th out of 40 competitors in the 400m (48.45), while junior
Brennan Doyle wasn't far behind in 12th (48.50).

Woodruff, Doyle, Resong and Allen combined for a fourth-place performance in the 4x400Â relay, notching a season-best 3:13.82.

Seth Enochs also started the afternoon with a season-best 41.03 in the 4x100Â (5th).
