IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine won the doubles point but ultimately dropped a 4-2 decision to Long Beach State in its regular-season finale, Friday afternoon.
 
UCI finishes the regular-season with a 14-10 overall record and 2-5 in conference play. The 49ers improve to 14-5 overall.
 
INSIDE THE MATCH
> The Anteaters won the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and 3
> Stephanie Nguyen and Alyssia Fossorier started things off with a win at No. 3 over Emma Bardet/Zara Lennon, 6-1
> Flora Amiri and Jessica Tsukiji clinched the point with an exciting 6-4 victory on court two
> Nguyen continued her impressive day earning UCI's only win in singles. She dispatched LBSU's Bardet, 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot
> Tsukiji won the second set and led the third in a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 match at No. 4 against Lalita Devarakonda
> The 49ers earned wins at Nos. 1, 3, 5 and 6 to earn the win
