'Eaters Conclude Action at Pacific Coast Intercollegiate

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team was in action Thursday at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate at Long Beach State's Jack Rose Track.
 
Redshirt freshman Kyle Tsu placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 57-04.75. Freshman Noah Holm also had a season-best 50-10.75 (14th).
 
Senior Omar Valenzuela was UCI's top finisher in the discus with a season-best 160-01.
 
On the track, junior Evan Singletary was sixth out of 29 competitors in the 200m. Despite running into a slight headwind, Singletary established a personal-record and team season-best 21.85.
 
Senior Paul Resong also notched an individual season-best 22.08 (-1.3w) to come in 12th, while junior Brennan Doyle was 18th (22.60).
 
Senior Asa Allen had a top-10 showing in the 110m hurdles, registering a season-best 14.48.
 
Freshman Omar Adel also ran the 800m (2:00.66).
 
Over in Azusa, senior Jon Rodriguez competed in the 3000m steeplechase (10:11.05) at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
 
UC Irvine will conclude the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday, April 19. In addition, the 'Eaters will compete in the Beach Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays tomorrow.
