ELK GROVE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's golf team was tied for eighth after one round of the Sacramento State Invitational Monday at Valley Hi Country Club.
The second round was suspended due to darkness. The Anteaters have three holes to complete before starting the third and final round tomorrow.
Junior
Ramiz Jamal led the 'Eaters in a tie for 18th at 1-under 71. He was tops on the team with six birdies. Two of them came on his last three holes to bring him below par for the round.

Freshman
Nathan Irwin had one of his most consistent rounds of the spring season, recording an even-par 72 to tie for 22nd. He had three birdies, one bogey and one double bogey.Â
Junior
Anthony Truong started strong as he birdied two of his first three holes before a double bogey brought him even. He got back to 2-under with a couple more birdies on No. 3 and No. 4, but finished with four bogeys over his last eight to tie for 29th at 1-over 73.

Jonathan Kang and
Chris Casey were tied for 61st at 4-over 76.
Long Beach State (281) held a one-stroke lead over Cal State Fullerton (282) through 18 holes. Alex Lee of Fresno State and Tanner Podres of Cal Poly each carded a 67 (-5) to sit in a tie for first on the individual leaderboard.
Play will resume at Valley Hi Country Club tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. The pairings will remain the same for the third round, which will start immediately following the conclusion of the second round.
