Eight Anteaters Compete at Jim Bush Legends Invitational

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -
The UC Irvine men's track & field team concluded action at the Jim Bush Legends Invitational Saturday at Drake Stadium.
 
Redshirt freshman Kyle Tsu highlighted the afternoon as he continued to improve in the shot put where he recorded a season-best 56-07.5 (5th). He was the only individual not from host school UCLA to place among the top-five in the competition. Tsu's mark also moved him past Mike Morales (1990) and Ken Mills (1983) for No. 5 in program history. 

Tsu added a sixth-place performance in the discus (159-11), while senior Omar Valenzuela was eighth (156-03).
 
The 'Eaters had two individuals among the top-10 in the 400m. Junior Brennan Doyle, the reigning Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week, led the way in third with a time of 47.99 seconds. Senior Paul Resong was also sixth with a season-best 48.36.
 
Junior Andres Woodruff took fourth in the 400m hurdles, clocking in at 54.24, and sophomore Seth Enochs established a personal-record 11.22 in the 100m.
 
Junior Alan Tantiwassadakran also came in 12th in the 110m hurdles (15.15). Freshman Lucas Anotado competed in the 200m (23.17).
 
Up next for UC Irvine is the Big West Challenge in Santa Barbara on Friday, April 5.
