LOS ANGELES - The UC Irvine men's tennis team continued action at the LMU Invitational Saturday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Courts.

The Anteaters began the day with three doubles matches against host Loyola Marymount. Junior
Jeremy Merville and freshman
Matthew Sah teamed up to defeat Ryan Brown/Max Kaiser, 8-7. Seniors
Daniel Gealer and
Bruce Man-Son-Hing fell at the top of the lineup, while over on court three, freshman
Ali Amiri and sophomore
Aaron Bailey were dealt only their second loss of the season.

The 'Eaters followed with singles play against Utah State. Merville stayed hot, taking down Javier Ruiz, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0, at No. 3. Merville is a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles over the first two days of the tournament.

Gealer also earned his second singles victory of the weekend, coming from behind to top Christian Holmes at the No. 4 spot. Gelaer dropped a tightly contested first set, 6-7, before bouncing back to claim the second, 7-5. He then cruised in the final frame with an impressive 6-0 score to close out the match.

Playing at No. 5, Bailey defeated Daniel Bushamuka in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. On court six, sophomore
Mike Mkrtchian dispatched Utah's Rian Ta, 6-3, 6-0.

UC Irvine wraps up action at the LMU Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 10, starting with doubles vs. Utah at 12 p.m. The Anteaters will then square off against Loyola Marymount in singles.
