COLFAX, Wash. - The UC Irvine women's cross country team wrapped up the 2019 season with a 27th-place finish at the NCAA West Regional Friday at Colfax Golf Club.
Sophomore and All-Big West performer
Hannah Chau led the Anteaters with a 6000-meter time of 21:17.1. She took 74th in a field of 246 that featured the top runners in the West Region. Chau, who was 91st last year, had UCI's best showing at the regional meet since 2008.
Senior
Mariah Theologidy had a strong finish to her cross country career as she clocked in at 22:33.9 (177th). Freshman
Elizabeth Celada Padilla (22:37.8) and sophomore
Patricia Sanchez (22:42.9) were right on her heels.
Freshman
Claire Livengood (22:45.3), senior
Brenda Dorantes (23:17.0) and senior
Anastasia Karnaze (23:08.1) rounded out the 'Eater lineup.
Second-ranked Stanford won the team title, while the Cardinal also had the individual champion in Ella Donaghu (19:50.8).
