Anteaters Finish Eighth at Bill Cullum Invitational

IRVINE, Calif. -
The UC Irvine men's golf team finished eighth at the Bill Cullum Invitational Tuesday at Wood Ranch Golf Club.
 
The Anteaters combined for a 54-hole score of 877 (296-285-296).
 
Senior Jonathan Kang closed out the tournament with an even-par 216 (74-70-72) to tie for 30th. He had a team-high four birdies on the day.

Senior Ramiz Jamal also tied for 42nd at 3-over 219 (74-70-75).
 
Sophomore Matt Gunson moved up two spots in the standings after carding a 73 in the final round. He tied for 47th with a total of 220 (75-72-73).
 
Sophomore Parker Lestz tied for 55th with a season-best 222 (73-73-76), while senior Anthony Truong tied for 92nd (233).
 
Senior Chris Casey, who was competing as an individual, had his best round of the tournament, shooting an even-par 72. He tied for 73rd overall (227).

San Diego State ran away with the team title at 40-under 824. The Aztecs' Puwit Anupansuebsai was also individual medalist at 18-under 198.
 
UC Irvine wraps up its fall season next week with the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational at The Reserve at Spanos Park, Oct. 21-23.
