Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine grabbed two wins in a doubleheader at Anteater Tennis Stadium Tuesda, topping Idaho, 5-2, in the morning before sweeping Lehigh, 6-0, in the afternoon.
 
UCI has won four-straight matches, improving to 7-7 on the season.

Junior Luis Lopez won his seventh-straight singles match after defeating Idaho's Carolos Neto in three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 at the top spot, while three other Anteaters battled to win three-set decisions on the day.
 
"I am really proud of how we competed today," said head coach Mike Saunders. "We won with our hearts and minds. We started slow against a very tough Idaho team and rallied to win it in the singles. We stayed positive and played for each other. Our unity made the difference."
 
Vatsal Bajpai and Bruce Man-Son-Hing teamed up at No. 2 doubles to clinch the point, 6-4, with a win over the Vandals' Esteban Santibanez/Lucas Coutinho. However, Mason Hansen and Luca Marquard dropped, 4-6, at No. 1 doubles and Lopez/Daniel Gealer lost 5-7 at No. 3 to give Idaho the doubles point.
 
Idaho earned a win at No. 4 singles to take a 2-1 before UCI won five-straight to seal the victory. Gealer defeated Santibanez on court five, 6-3, 7-5, then Lopez pulled out a gritty win at the top spot.
 
Sasha Krasnov won in three sets on court two, 7-5, 4-6, 6-1, while Marquard downed his opponent in three, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 at No. 3. Hansen was last to finish after pulling off a three-set victory, 6-7, 7-5, 7-5, over Coutinho at No. 6.

 The Anteaters carried their momentum from the morning match into the afternoon earning a 6-0 victory over Lehigh.
 
"We needed to get a fast start and win the doubles point," said Saunders. "We broke first on all three courts and never looked back."
 
Lopez continued his stellar singles play, earning his eighth-straight win with a 6-1, 6-4 decision over Lehigh's Harry Wang in the top spot.
 
UCI got things started with wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles. Hansen and Gealer earned a 6-1 triumph in the top spot as the duo of Bajpai and Man-Son-Hing grabbed their second doubles win of the day at No. 2.
 
The 'Eaters won five-straight singles matches to grab the win. Man-Son-Hing was tied, 3-3, on court five before his match went unfinished due to rain.
 
Krasnov, Marquard and Gealer each won their second match of the day at Nos. two, three and four, respectively.
 
Antoine Barthe earned a win on court six, defeating Lehigh's Dylan Karchere-Sun, 7-5, 6-2.
 
"We are hopeful that Sebastian Heim can return soon," added Saunders. "He has done an amazing job of leading this team even though he has not been able to compete on the court. He cares so much about his teammates and this program. His passion and his heart has inspired us all. He has that natural instinct and desire to find a way to make a difference."
 
UCI will continue its busy week of play with a match against Gonzaga Thursday (Mar. 15) at 10 a.m.
