IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine women's soccer is a versatile bunch much like
Kelsee Pottorff who brings out her toughness in any situation she's thrust into.
Affectionately known as "Pot" around the team, Kelsee is cheerful and jovial most of the time, but has that edge deep down that she unleashes on the soccer field. She is searching for her first career point, but has seen her playing time increase including a pair of starts in 2016, and we caught up to find out a little bit more about her:
- What show could you watch for hours on end?
Stranger Things! I plan on spending my entire Halloween glued to it
- Who is your favorite professional athlete?
My favorite athlete would be Wesley Sneijder. I am a huge fan of the Netherlands and Dutch teams. Growing up, I attended a camp annually that was hosted by the Dutch National Team players and coaches along with other European professionals, so naturally I admire their style of play.
- If you didn't play soccer, what sport or job would you do?
I would still be running cross country or track. I would be terrible at any work that requires a night shift.
- Is there a meaning behind your jersey number?
I have been No. 7 since I started playing soccer. My whole family's number is 7, and we wear the number 7 or a number that contains 7. It also has a strong biblical reference to completeness both physical and spiritually which is something I live by and is always a great reminder.
- Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?
I always pray before every game. I also always have to be wearing purple during the game.
