LA JOLLA, Calif. – The UC Irvine men's track & field team had seven athletes compete at the Triton Invitational Saturday in La Jolla.
Senior Antwon Parker led the 'Eaters with a pair of top-15 finishes in the short sprints. He placed seventh overall in the 200m with a time of 22.35, while coming in 15th in the 100m (11.23). Freshmen Jordan Gibson (11.28) and Julian Gibson (11.53) were also 17th and 23rd, respectively, in the 100m.
Freshman Alan Tantiwassadakran ran a season-best 15.38 in the 110m hurdles where he was 13th overall. Classmate Andres Woodruff added a 12th-place showing in the 400m hurdles (56.89).
Senior Matt Seawright and sophomore Omar Valenzuela also competed in the discus. Seawright placed 11th at 166-06, while Valenzuela was 17th (159-09.5).
UC Irvine returns to action next weekend with its second and final home meet of the season as the Anteaters are set to host the Adidas/Steve Scott Invitational, April 28-29.
