LONG BEACH, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team wrapped up a busy weekend at the Beach Invitational Saturday at Jack Rose Track.
Senior Brandon Howard led the way on the track with a season-best 52.58 for a fifth-place finish in the 400m hurdles.
The 'Eaters also had a solid showing in the 100m with junior Michael Hamill (10.89) and senior Antwon Parker (11.04) each establishing personal records. Freshman Jordan Gibson added a season-best 10.93, while classmate Evan Singletary was the quartet's top finisher at 10.86 seconds.
Senior David Aguilar anchored the Anteaters' effort in the mid-distances, clocking in at a lifetime-best 1:54.46 in the 800m. Freshman Hector Garcia also placed 43rd out of 122 in the 1500m (3:57.36).
In the field events, senior Matt Seawright, who was coming off a PR in the hammer throw on Friday, picked up a season-best 169-11 in the discus to place 20th in a field of 91 competitors.
UC Irvine will hit the road again next weekend, traveling south to La Jolla for the UCSD Triton Invitational, April 21-22.
