Pacific Coast Intercollegiate - Final Results
The UC Irvine men's track & field team saw nine athletes compete in three different meets on Thursday.
UCI sent its largest contingent to the Distance Carnival of the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific's Cougar Stadium. Sophomore Izzak Mireles led four 'Eaters in the 5000m with a time of 14:56.51. He finished 20th in Heat 3.
In Heat 6, junior Ashton Garcia clocked in at 15:18.02 to come in seventh. Freshman Samuel Ayala (15:34.06) and senior Nolan Del Valle (15:36.02) were also 15th and 16th, respectively.
In the steeplechase, sophomore Branden Randall took 11th in his section with a time of 9:36.86. Classmate Jon Rodriguez wasn't far behind at 9:38.05 (12th).
At the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate in Long Beach, senior Lloyd Sicard was the runner-up in the 110m hurdles (14.12). He finished second to Jordan Charles of Wyoming.
Junior Jon Dickinson added a pair of top-20 showings in the throws. Dickinson was fourth in his flight and 17th overall in the hammer (154-08), while he won his flight and placed 20th in the shot put (47-07.75).
Senior Matt Seawright was also 16th (177-05) in the hammer throw at the Mt. SAC Relays in Torrance.
UC Irvine continues action at the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays on Friday, while it heads back to Long Beach on Saturday for the Beach Invitational.
