IRVINE, Calif. – Men's track athlete Isaiah Jewett has been named this week's Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week after leading UC Irvine at the UCI Spring Break Collegiate Classic.

The sophomore continued his strong start to the season by beating his lifetime-best by 5.24 seconds and winning the 800m. Jewett ran the race in 1:49.14, which ranks first in the Big West, second in the West Region, fifth in the NCAA and fifth in school history.

Jewett, who was named Big West Male Track Athlete of the Week, closed out the meet helping the Anteaters 4x400 relay team to a third place finish, running a season best 3:11.75.

UCI returns to action on March 24-25 when it travels to Riverside for the UCR Spring Track Classic.
