IRVINE, Calif. --- The Big West Conference and ESPN3 unveiled the rest of the broadcast schedule for men's basketball on Wednesday with the chance of eight more games added to the televised slate.
The 'Eaters have four games on ledger that are guaranteed to be broadcasted on ESPN3 starting in the Bren Events Center Thursday, Jan. 18 with their 7:00 p.m. matchup with Cal Poly. UCI's home contest with UC Riverside the following Wednesday, Jan. 24, will also be viewable.
Moving to February, two more matchups will earn the ESPN3 seal of approval - Wednesday, Feb. 7 vs. CSUN and Thursday, Feb. 15 vs. Hawai'i. Lastly, UC Irvine's season finale vs. UC Davis will also be shown with a Wild Card option either Fox Sports West or ESPN3 picking it up.
In addition to the guaranteed games, four more Wild Card matchups can be added to the ESPN3 repertoire. UCI's January 6 home matchup with Long Beach State and the February 3 matchup at Cal State Fullerton each could get picked up by ESPNU or ESPN3 with that decision, as well as all the other potential Wild Card game February 10 at UC Riverside, being made 2-to-3 weeks out.
In all, 13 of the 16 Big West games for UC Irvine have the potential to be on broadcasted on either ESPN2, ESPNU, Fox Sports West, Prime Ticket, or ESPN3. The three outliers are all road matchups - January 4 at UC Davis, January 13 at CSUN, and February 17 at Cal Poly. All eight Big West home contests have the potential to be broadcasted with five guaranteed thus far.
