IRVINE, Calif. -- Women's indoor track athlete Megan George has been named this week's Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week after a record-setting performance at the Lumberjack Team Challenge.

The senior bested her own school record in the 60-meter hurdles in the season opener with an altitude-adjusted time of 8.44 seconds, which was fast enough to earn her runner-up honors. George's time of 8.44 seconds beat her previous school record of 8.54 seconds which she set last year at the MPSF Championships.

George also ran a time of 7.72 seconds in the 60-meter dash, placing seventh in the event. The personal-best time of 7.72 seconds moved her to the No. 4 spot in the UCI record books.

UC Irvine returns to action next weekend when it heads to Seattle, Wash., for the UW Invitational, Jan. 27-28.
