UC Irvine Volleyball Featured On ESPN3

IRVINE, CA – The Big West Conference has announced that ESPN3 will broadcast three women's volleyball matches from the Bren Events Center this season.

The Anteaters host three straight contests in the package, culminating with a match versus Hawaii on Nov. 10.  The Anteaters also welcome Cal Poly (Nov. 3) and UCSB (Nov. 5) to the Bren Center.

"Being featured  three times on ESPN 3 is an awesome opportunity and great experience for the team and program," head coach Ashlie Hain said. "These matches will all be very competitive and demonstrate on a big platform the strength of women's volleyball in the Big West Conference."

UCI's matches are part of a 13-event schedule that will appear on ESPN3 this fall.

Eleven women's volleyball and two women's soccer contests comprise the slate in the fourth year of a collaboration between the Big West and ESPN, producing 60-plus ESPN3 events annually. All nine member schools will be showcased at least once in the package.

ESPN3 is ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually.  It is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices through WatchESPN.  The network is currently available nationwide at no additional cost who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider.  It is also available at no cost to U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-campus educational and on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.

"It's a great start to an extensive ESPN3 schedule that brings the best of what Big West sports have to offer to a national audience," said Big West Conference Commissioner Dennis Farrell.  "This is terrific exposure for our schools, student-athletes and conference as a whole using typical ESPN production standards."
