UC Irvine Concludes Play at Big West Championship

 

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. --- UC Irvine finished eighth in the Big West Conference Championship that concluded Wednesday at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley.

The Anteaters finished with a 54-hole total of 891.  UC Riverside won the title with a three-round score of 862, Cal Poly was second at 865 and UC Santa Barbara third at 872.

Senior Jacob Schulze and sophomore David Kim led UCI with 20th-place finishes of 220.  Kim shot a 1-over 73 in the final round and Schulze 76.

Redshirt freshman Chris Parkinson shot 73 Wednesday to finish 24th at 222, sophomore Jonathan Young was 39th at 230 after shooting 75, and junior Bryan Shin placed 41st at 233 after a final round of 78.

Brandon Bauman of UC Santa Barbara was medalist at 4-under 212, including a 1-under 71 over the final 18 holes.
