LAWRENCE, Kan. --- Five student-athletes on the UC Irvine women's track and field team concluded their season Saturday at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Lawrence, Kan.
The 4x100 relay of Taisyn Crutchfield, Megan George, Michelle Norman and Persis William-Mensah finished 20th overall with a time of 45.71 seconds.
The relay broke the school record four times this season and set the current mark of 44.51 in winning the Big West Conference title May 14.
George, two-time conference champion in the 100-meter hurdles, finished 23th overall in the event with a time of 13.51 seconds at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence Saturday.
Freshman Barbara Coward placed 36th in the discus throw with a mark of 154-9 as the event was completed Saturday after being suspended Friday due to lightning.
