IRVINE, Calif. --- Junior Matt Seawright posted UC Irvine's top finish Friday in the 22nd annual adidas/Steve Scott Invitational at Anteater Stadium.
Seawright finished fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 197-8 while Jon Dickinson was eighth at 162-3 and Omar Valenzuela ninth at 160-7 as the latter duo registered career-best marks.
Izzak Mireles was sixth in the 5,000 meters as he finished in a time of 14:50.43.
Jon Rodriguez placed seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a career-best time of 9:38.98 and Branden Randall was eighth in 9:51.19.
Mike Graf also had a top-10 finish for the 'Eaters, placing eighth in the javelin throw with a mark of 166-9.
Action resumes Saturday at 12:00 p.m. on the final day of the invitational.
