Laguna Niguel, Calif. – UC Irvine leads the 35th annual Anteater Invitational after 36 holes at the El Niguel Country Club.
The Anteaters lead the 10-team tournament with a score of 590 (288-302), five strokes ahead of Long Beach State (595). Drexel is third (604), while CSUN and Columbia are tied for fourth (605).
UCI senior Jacob Schulze shot a two-round total of 144 (71-73) and leads the tournament by one shot over Long Beach State's Kevin Lee and Drexel's Christopher Crawford.
Reshirt freshman Chris Parkinson had UCI's best score of the day with a 70 in the first round and is in fourth place with a score of 146 (70-76).
UCI's Jonathan Young is in 21st position with a score of 152 (73-79), Bryan Shin is tied for 24th place at 153 (74-79) and Johnny Hyun is tied for 33rd with a total of 157 (83-74) to round out the Anteater lineup. Playing as individuals, Ryan O'Connor shot a 151 (75-76) and is tied for 16th, Jefferson Kao is tied for 40th at 158 (73-85) and Ramiz Jamal is tied for 54th at 163 (82-81).
