Lakeside, Calif. -- UC Irvine finished sixth at the Barona Collegiate Cup at the Barona Creek Golf Club.
UCI recorded a score of 305 on the final round Tuesday to complete the tournament with a 54-hole total of 899 (295-299-305). Host San Diego State captured the team title with a score of 838 (274-281-283) and Minnesota's Runar Anderson earned medalist honors after carding a 207 (62-71-74).
Jacob Schulze (68-79-75) and Bryan Shin (79-71-72) led the Anteaters finishing in a tie for 22nd place with a score of 222. The duo ranked in the tournament's top 10 statistically with Schulze firing 12 birdies and Shin recording 36 pars.
Johnny Hyun was tied for 41st with a three-round score of 229 (76-76-77), while Jonathan Young was tied for 49th at 232 (72-79-81) and Chris Parkinson was tied for 55th with a score of 234 (79-73-82).
UC Irvine will host the Anteater Invitational Monday and Tuesday (Mon. 28-29) at the El Niguel Country Club.
