IRVINE, Calif. --- Juniors Matt Seawright and Isaiah Thompson turned in solid performances for UC Irvine in the Spring Break Invitational Friday.

Seawright finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 198-9 and Jon Dickinson placed seventh at 160-8.

Thompson placed third in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:38.28, Branden Randall was sixth in 14:51.25 and Izzak Mireles ninth in 15:00.91.

Jon Rodriguez finished ninth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:45.49.

Action continues Saturday at Anteater Stadium with field events starting at 10:00 a.m. and the first event on the track at 12:00 p.m.
