LONG BEACH, Calif. --- UC Irvine finished sixth in the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate that concluded Tuesday at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach.
The Anteaters shot 281 Tuesday, tying for the third-best round of the day, and finished with a 54-hole total of 863 to place sixth along with CSUN. Cal Poly won the 12-team tournament with a total of 838 while Long Beach State was second at 839.
UCI senior Jacob Schulze fired a 3-under 67 in the final round to place 22nd at 215. Chris Parkinson, with a 71 Tuesday, finished 27th at 217 and Jonathan Young was 31st at 218 after shooting a 72.
Johnny Hyun (71) finished 34th at 219 and Bryan Shin (76) was 39th at 221. Jefferson Kao, competing individually, finished 56th at 225 after a final round of 74.
Michael Chen of Long Beach State was medalist at 9-under 201.
UCI returns to action March 21-22 in the Barona Collegiate Cup at Barona Creek Golf Club in Lakeside.
