LONG BEACH, Calif. --- UC Irvine is tied for ninth after Monday's first two rounds of the Del Walker Intercollegiate at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach.
The Anteaters and Cal State Fullerton each have 36-hole scores of 582. Cal Poly leads at 556, Long Beach State is second at 558 and Wichita State is third at 572.
Junior Bryan Shin had rounds of 75-70 and is in 22nd place at 145. Jonathan Young (75-71) and Chris Parkinson (72-74) are tied for 28th at 146.
Jacob Schulze (74-74) and Johnny Hyun (72-76) are tied for 35th at 148. Jefferson Kao, competing as an individual, shot rounds of 75-76 and is in 56th place at 151.
Michael Chen of Long Beach State is the individual leader at 8-under 132 (68-64).
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday.
