UC Irvine Places Fifth in Winter Intercollegiate

 

BEAUMONT, Calif. --- UC Irvine finished fifth in the Winter Intercollegiate that concluded Tuesday at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont.

The Anteaters had a 54-hole total of 917 as UC Santa Barbara won the title at 896.  DePaul was second at 910 and Eastern Kentucky third at 914.

UCI sophomore David Kim placed sixth with a three-round score of 225 after a final round of 78 for his second top-10 finish in 2015-16.

Sophomore Johnny Hyun also finished in the top 10 with a total of 228, shooting an 81 Tuesday, for ninth place.

Senior Jacob Schulze (77) placed 12th at 229, sophomore Jonathan Young (83) was 32nd at 239 and junior Bryan Shin (87) finished 38th at 241.

Brandon Bauman of UC Santa Barbara was medalist at 216 after a final-round 76.

UCI is back in action Feb. 8-9 in The Farms Collegiate Invitational at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe.
