Men's Tennis Overcomes No. 56 Old Dominion for 4-0 Victory

WACO, Tex. --- The fruits of their labor are beginning to show through as No. 70 UC Irvine completed a sweep of No. 56 Old Dominion (0-2) Sunday afternoon to wrap up the ITA Kickoff Classic in Waco.

Doubles set the tone as Justin Agbayani and Jonathan Poon upset No. 28 Aziz Kijametovic and Adam Moundir at No. 1 doubles to clinch the point for UC Irvine (5-2).

Singles began with sweeps from Tyler Pham and Vatsal Bajpai before No. 119 Sebastian Heim closed it out with a sweep at No. 1 singles for the 4-0 victory.

"Total team win. Everyone contributed. We won on belief and competing every point," praised a joyous Head Coach Mike Saunders following the upset win.

The Anteaters have now played three ranked squads in spring action taking down one and swiping points from the others, No. 22 USD and No. 4 Baylor.

The next match will feature another ranked foe in No. 62 New Mexico on Feb. 13.
