IRVINE, Calif. --- Alex Young, who will be a senior at UC Irvine this season, has been selected to play for Great Britain's Senior Team that will face New Zealand Saturday night.
The Anteater point guard is one of seven new members on the team's roster for Saturday's game at Copper Box Arena in London.
Young, who averaged 9.4 points and 3.6 assists last season, ranks third in the UCI record book with 414 career assists and eighth with 104 steals.
He was an All-Big West honorable mention selection last season when the 'Eaters won the conference tournament for the first time and made the program's initial appearance in the NCAA Division I Tournament.
Young played for Great Britain in last summer's European U20 Championship, along with UCI teammate Luke Nelson.
