LUBBOCK, Texas --- UC Irvine remained in 11th place following Friday's second round of the NCAA Regional at the Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas.
The Anteaters shot 291 Friday and have a 36-hole total of 578 following the second round that was delayed in starting by 4 ½ hours due to heavy thunderstorms Thursday night. Host Texas Tech leads with a two-round score of 552, Texas is second at 555 and Duke is in third at 558.
K.K. Limbhasut of California is the individual leader at 8-under par 134 after a 3-under 68 Friday.
UCI junior Jacob Schulze shot even-par 71 in the second round and is in 34th place at 143. Senior Pete Fernandez (75) and freshman David Kim (71) are tied for 46th at 145.
Sophomore Bryan Shin had a 74 Friday and is in 51st place at 146 while freshman Jonathan Young (81) is 73rd at 154.
The final round is scheduled for Saturday with the 'Eaters, Georgia State and North Florida going off the 10th tee beginning at 6:25 a.m. (PT).
The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams following Saturday's final round will advance to the NCAA Finals May 29-June 3 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.
