Freshman Lead UC Irvine On First Day Of Big West Championships

Davis, Calif. -- Freshman Camille Wagg led UC Irvine on the first day of the Big West Championships held at the El Macero Country Club.

Wagg shot a first round of three over par 75 and is tied for 11th place, while freshman Kelsey Kawaguchi shot a 76 and is tied for 18th. Sophomore Samantha Chan is tied for 27th with a score of 78 and sophomore Kaley In and junior Kristin Henno are tied for 38th (84).

The Anteaters are tied with Cal State Fullerton for seventh following a first round score of 313. Davis leads the tournament at 288.

Round two of the three-day event tees off at 9:00 a.m. with Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine.  Live scoring can be found at www.golfstat.com.
