Lloyd Sicard Has Big Day for UC Irvine

 

IRVINE, Calif. --- Sophomore Lloyd Sicard was a double-winner for UC Irvine in the Spring Break Invitational at Anteater Stadium Saturday.

Sicard won the 110-meter hurdles in 13.95 seconds, which is the No. 1 time in the nation this season and improved on his No. 3 time in UCI history.

Sicard also earned first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.56 as teammates Cameron Vaca (53.14) and Brandon Howard (53.40) were second and third, respectively.

Isaiah Thompson finished second in the 800 meters in 1:50.92 and Kyle Hubbard was third in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.66.

In field events, Mason Miller won the shot put with a mark of 57-9 and Matt Dispenza was first in the high jump at 6-6.

The Anteaters finished third in the team competition with 122 ½ points.  Army placed first with 204 and Northern Arizona was second with 153.

UCI returns to action at the UCR Spring Classic in Riverside Thursday through Saturday.
