IRVINE, Calif. --- Anteater Tennis Stadium was rocking Sunday as the crowd helped No. 49 UC Irvine get back in the saddle with a big, 4-3 win over Pacific.
Doubles came down to the third set punctuated by some brilliant play from Ali Facey and Kat Facey to get the 6-3 win and doubles point.
UC Irvine (8-3, 2-0) jumped out to the singles advantage winning five of the six opening sets. The Facey sisters led the charge once again winning in straight sets highlighted by Ali Facey's emphatic 6-3, 6-3 win to clinch the match at make it 4-0, 'Eaters.
Pacific (5-3) claimed the final three points including coming back to take two after dropping the opening set, but ultimately fell, 4-3.
The 'Eaters return to Big West play on Wednesday, Mar. 4, with a 1:30 p.m. match at Anteater Tennis Stadium against Cal State Fullerton.
