Seal Beach, Calif. – In the first tournament of the spring, sophomore Kaley In posted her third top 20 finish of the season at The Gold Rush presented by Southern California Ford Dealers held at the Old Ranch Country Club.
In shot an even par 72 Tuesday on her way to her third top 20 finish of the year, placing 16th with a three-round total of 228 (81-75-72). It was a season-best finish for the sophomore.
Sophomore Samantha Chan was tied for 34th with a score of 233 (80-77-76), while freshmen Kelsey Kawaguchi (81-74-81) and Camille Wagg (79-77-80) were tied for 42nd with a 236 total. Junior Kristin Henno was 58th at 242 (81-82-79). Freshman Breanne Jones was tied for 61st with a score of 247 (84-77-86) playing as an individual.
The Anteaters shot a 54-hole total of 931 (321-303-307) and finished ninth in the spring opener. Host Long Beach State won the tournament with a score of 883 (289-303-291).
In a quick turnaround, UCI will travel to the Peg Barnard Invitational this Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 14-15) at the Stanford Golf Course.
