UCI will begin a six-game road swing this week, starting at No. 19 UCLA Wednesday (Dec. 16) at 7:00 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion. The Anteaters will head to San Jose State on Sunday (Dec. 20) and Sacramento State Tuesday (Dec.22) before the holiday break. Both games up north begin at 2:00 p.m.

The Bruins are ranked No. 19 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

The last time UCI played a ranked team dates back to No. 25 Arizona State on Dec. 6, 2008. The Sun Devils beat the Anteaters 75-23.

UCLA holds an 8-0 series lead over UCI.

UCI last played UCLA Dec. 4, 2006 at the Bren Events Center with the Bruins taking the 66-62
victory.

UCLA is 5-2, losing to Notre Dame and South Carolina. The Bruins are coming off a 86-77 win at Michigan.

SJSU is 1-7 overall and riding a seven-game losing streak. The Spartans will entertain New Mexico State on Thursday before hosting the Anteaters.

UCI leads San Jose State, 16-11 in the series records, but the Spartans have won the last three meetings.

In the last meeting, UC Irvine committed 36 turnovers in a 91-65 loss to San Jose State at the Bren last season.

The Spartans were members of the Big West Conference from 1986-1996.

Raelyn Cheung-Sutton is ranked 15th in the nation in assists per game (6.4). She dished 12 assists against Nevada and Southern Utah which was a career-high as well as the most in the Big West this season. Her 12 assists is tied for 12th most in the country this year.

Cheung-Sutton is third on the team in scoring at 8.6 per contest.

Shereen Sutherland tops the squad in scoring with a 9.4 average. Sutherland has led the Anteaters with a season-high 17 points in each of the last three games.

Over the last three games, Sutherland is averaging 17.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and is shooting .636 (21-33) from the floor.

Mokun Fajemisin is second in the Big West in rebounding (9.3) and blocked shots (2.1). She is second on the team averaging 9.0 points per game.

The Anteaters are 19th in the country in three-point field goal defense (.243).

UCI also leads the Big West in fewest turnovers (138) and are third in blocks per game (3.4).

UCI began the week with a 58-53 loss to Grand Canyon. Once again the Anteaters struggled in the fourth quarter, being out-scored 23-13. Over the last six games, UCI has been out-scored 135-84 in the final period.

Sutherland went 6-12 from the field and 5-5 from the line to lead UCI against GCU with 17 points. She also had eight rebounds.
