UC Irvine Finishes 7th at Cabo del Sol

 

LOS CABOS, Mexico --- UC Irvine finished seventh in the Cabo del Sol Intercollegiate that concluded Tuesday in Los Cabos, Mexico.

Competing in its first tournament of the 2015-16 season, UCI had a 54-hole total of 893.  Georgia State was team champion at 858, Georgia Southern was second at 861 and UT Arlington third with a score of 867.

UCI senior Jacob Schulze shot a 75 in the final round and placed 25th at 222, as did sophomore David Kim, who carded a 79 Tuesday on the Cabo del Sol Ocean Course.

Sophomore Jonathan Young finished 31st at 225 after an even-par 72 in the final round, sophomore Johnny Hyun was 42nd at 229 after shooting 80 and junior Bryan Shin placed 48th at 233 following his 79 Tuesday.

Hayden Shieh of Santa Clara was medalist at 9-under 207.

The 'Eaters return to action Oct. 19-20 in the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley.
