Pearl Law Leads UC Irvine at Big West Meet

 

RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Senior Pearl Law was the first UC Irvine runner across the finish line Saturday in the Big West Conference Championship at Riverside.

Law recorded a time of 22:20.32 over 6,000 meters at the UCR Agricultural Operations Course to place 42nd.

Lisa Vasquez finished 45th in 22:29.75, Aliya Shah was 48th in 22:39.73, Hallie Pullum 52nd in 22:53.86 and Yulissa Mendoza 58th in 23:22.21.

Courtney Sharar placed 61st (23:35.53), Hannah Ruby 63rd (23:44.69) and Megan Mirkhanian 65th (23:52.64).

Faith Maku of UC Riverside won the race in 20:27.50.

Cal Poly captured the team title with 39 points, UC Santa Barbara was second with 59, UC Davis third with 69 and UCI was ninth with 225.

The Anteaters return to action Nov. 13 at the NCAA West Regional in Seattle, Wash.
