UC Irvine in Fifth Place at Pacific Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. --- UC Irvine is in fifth place after Friday's second round of the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational.

The Anteaters have a 36-hole total of 591 on the par-71 course at the Stockton Golf & Country Club.

Sacramento State leads the 16-team field at 570, Long Beach State is second at 573, Pacific is third at 584 and Denver fourth at 589.

UCI sophomore David Kim continued his strong play, shooting an even-par 71 Friday to tie for third place at 140 along with Matt Lutz from UC Riverside.  Pacific's Matt Lee and Sacramento State's Landon Azevedo, both competing as individuals, are tied for the lead at 139.

Anteater senior Jacob Schulze shot a 73 Friday and is in 35th place at 149, sophomore Jonathan Young carded a 74 and is 44th at 151.

Freshman Jefferson Kao (75) is in 56th place at 152 and Ramiz Jamal, another UCI freshman, is 71st at 155 after a 74 Friday.

The final round is scheduled for Saturday, with the 'Eaters going off the first tee beginning at 8:30 a.m.
