SEATTLE, Wash. --- The UC Irvine women's indoor track and field team began competition on day one of the UW Invitational in Seattle Friday.
Sophomore Megan George placed 26th of 42 competitors overall in the 200 meters with a time of 26.13 and freshman Simone Buchanan finished 31st in 26.40.
Freshman Titula Sappa finished 32nd overall in the weight throw with a mark of 41-0 1/4.
Action continues Saturday with the first field event at 10:00 a.m. and track events starting at 10:15 a.m. at Dempsey Indoor.
