Kaycee Holcomb is UCI's Top Runner at Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. --- Kaycee Holcomb was UC Irvine's top runner Saturday in the 41st Stanford Invitational.

She covered 6,000 meters in 22:50 on the Stanford Golf Course to place 59th among all NCAA Division I runners.

Alice Yang finished 78th in 23:13, Marthie Ponty was 99th (23:33), Lauren Hall 101st (23:37), Courtney Sharar 112th (24:05), Chelsea Schneider 116th (24:17) and Pearl Law 117th (24:17) to complete the Anteaters' top seven.

Abby Regan from Washington State was the individual champion with a time of 20:31.

UCI finished 18th in the team standings with 449 points.  Stanford won the meet with 71 points, UC Davis was second with 94 and Cal Poly third with 117.

UCI's next competition is in the Vanguard Invitational Oct. 11 at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa.
