IRVINE, Calif. --- The Anteater closer cleaned up recently in the records department and now has Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week to his name.

Junior closer Sam Moore has five saves during UC Irvine's currently seven-game win streak which has included a sweep of the ranked Gaucho squad from UC Santa Barbara. His 21st save of the season on Saturday set a new Big West record adding onto the record he set in UC Davis when he saved all three wins and setting a new single-season mark for the 'Eaters at 18. Moore stands just three saves away from the NCAA single-season record of 24.

On the season, Moore has appeared in 25 games pitching 37 innings and recording 21 saves. He has struck out 32 batters and allowed just six earned runs on the season to lift the 'Eaters to a 32-14 record, 14-1 in Big West play.

UCI runs into a demanding week ahead with midweek trip to San Diego before travelling to No. 7 Cal Poly for a three-game series.
