FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --- UC Irvine junior Itos Aikhionbare finished 16th in the discus throw at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Fayetteville, Ark., Friday.
She had a mark of 166-4 in the field of 48 competitors in which the top 12 finishers qualified for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 11-14.
Aikhionbare was named Big West Field Athlete of the Year this season after winning conference titles in the shot put and discus, and setting school records in both events.
